This journal is part of a large-scale project, initiated by the Ministry for Science and Research in North Rhine-Westphalia and implemented by the Hochschulbibliothekszentrum NRW ‘Centre of University Libraries’ in Cologne.

Starting Point. The highest quality management of scientific information demands a forward-looking, quality-assured system of timely publication.

Initiative. The Ministry for Science and Research in North Rhine-Westphalia has acted as initiator for the Open Access Initiative “Digital Peer Publishing NRW”. This initiative encourages the foundation and expansion of scientific e-journals.

Aim. The goal is to increase the number of high-quality scientific publications as well as to develop new methods of network-based cooperative information management and anchor these as far as possible. These in turn enable speedy, open and transparent digital peer publishing in an attractive environment.
